Ignoring what I said last week, here’s a Channel 4 News interview with the lead designer of the majority of recent Apple products, Jonathan Ive. (Note, this interview is a bit old, but what the hell?)

But alas, I was quiet happy to read yesterday on the Apple UK Store that they are offering people who bought Macs between October 1st 2007 till December 29th 2007 upgrade to “Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard at a cost of £5.95” which I think is most awesome!

There is a list of what Apple computers qulify for the offer, but its pretty much if you ordered since October, you should get it.

The Worst Thing about Macs (ExtremeTech)

Recently, a reader named David e-mailed me, saying he found the article from my guide on how to replace the hard drive in a Macbook Pro. He asked, simply, “A year later, what do you think?” Fundamentally, I stand by my initial impressions: There are plenty of things OS X does very well, and better than any version of Windows. There are also some really boneheaded things. But honestly, the thing I hate most about using a Mac are the Apple fans. The old song and dance about the Steve Jobs worshipping, sycophantic, “thank you sir may I have another”, na-ture of the Cult of Apple is true. And while it certainly does not represent all Mac users, there are enough bad apples (pardon the pun) to spoil the bunch.

[to main article]

The thing is, this is too true. I talk to people about Apple products, and if they aren’t into them they are like “Oh dear!” which you can’t blame as there is this aura about them that causes people to think you are purchasing because it’s the in thing.

I made my choice as a Windows user that has used Mac in the past an I enjoyed it more than Windows. As far as things go, I do believe it’s the better product for everyday users, but in some cases, maybe not. It’s a hard one.

Went out to Southampton today… forgetting to check to see if Saint’s where playing, and finding out when I got in the middle of nasty traffic they where! But aside from that, went into my favourite shop that I never purchase anything in; the Apple store.

Wasn’t till after lunch I decided to purchase an iPod touch, so this would be my first purchase in the store. But the bugger was they didn’t have any. Dissapointed, but I did get to try one and I really enjoyed it. Really do want one now, so I think when I get my new MacBook (the black one!).

Tell you what pissed me off; I can understand why the iPod touch was still sold out (even being out since 28th of September), but why the fuck the dude’s in the store let kids fuck about putting their wooker - note: wooker means “wannabe hooker” - mugs on Bebo and MySpace. Really annoying espcially as I’m in there to purchase (for a change), but even for the fact that I go in there to purchase off the web and ask for advice, but for the stupid scene kids that do fuck all, I have issues trying the product. But today I thought fuck it and just shoved the kids out of the way, and getting god awaful looks from them… probably their normal face, look like fugly sods them all!

But from that, went off to the book shop (Kerrie’s port of call), and got me a copy of iWoz (Steve Wozniak’s autobiography) and Rant by Cuck Palahniuk; also had a copy of The IT Crowed shown to me by Kerrie that I got. IT Crowed is awesome if you never watched it.

So that’s my useless blog post of the day, just a little personal ditty as I’m not at work reading the news stories. Tomorrow I probably won’t blog at all as I’m gonna sit in and complete Halo and try and do more Bioshock, so don’t miss me!
